A landlord offers an unemployed young man a position that requires him to evict people living in his building who do not pay rent on time.

Thakur Bhupendra Singh and his son Ajit are powerful landlords who oppress a helpless community of villagers. Ajit marries Laxmi, a city girl who has come to the village to be with her brother,Bheema. Bheema and a feisty village belle Gauri, are in love but before they can marry, tragedy strikes. Ajit, who had abandoned Laxmi soon after their wedding returns and murders her. The law is helpless and Bheema decides to take law into his own hands.

Randhir and Ranvir Verma are twins. Randhir is straightforward, while Ranvir is a petty criminal. These petty thefts add up, and soon the police arrest Ranvir, and he is sentenced to prison. In prison, Ranvir incurs the wrath of a gangster, Tony, and is killed. Randhir undertakes to find the killer, and gets himself arrested, and imprisoned to get to see who the killer is. After getting out from prison, Randhir plans to avenge his brother's death, without knowing that he himself could endanger his very life, as well the life of his girlfriend, Mala. The song "Chandni chand se hoti hai, sitaron se nahin, pyar bhi ek se hota hai hazaron se nahin..." is still popular.

The gangster Bulla (Mukesh Rishi) becomes the crime lord of Mumbai after killing his rival Lamboo Aata (Ishrat Ali). However, when his right hand man Kala Shetty (Rami Reddy) is arrested by police due to the intervention of a coolie and a good samaritan Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty), Bulla swears revenge. He manages to trap Shankar`s sister Geeta (Sapna) into a sham marriage with Gulshan (Gulshan Rana) who is a scamster working for the pimp Lucky Chikna (Razak Khan). Bulla`s younger brother Chutiya (Shakti Kapoor), who has long been impotent, becomes sex-crazed under the influence of London-imported pills provided by his loving elder brother and proceeds to brutally rape Geeta and ends up killing her. When Shankar`s policeman father is also killed by the corrupt Inspector Kale (Rana Jung Bahadur), Shankar swears that he will kill Bulla, Chutiya, their ally Potey (Mohan Joshi) and the rest of their entourage within ten days.
